Dr. Jayant Shridhar Sawant, Executive Director of our company, is a distinguished professional with a remarkable academia-Industry blended background spanning over three decades in the domain of chemistry. With a strong academic foundation, Dr. Sawant has earned his Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai. To hone his patenting skills, he successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR University. His commitment to quality and excellence is further underscored by his certification as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. During his stint with various industries Dr Sawant has garnered key skill sets to strategize vision and mission for sustainable growth of organizations, identify, initiate, and execute long/short-term research programs, network effectively across stakeholders to create win-win situations, and expertly plan resource development and deployment. He has been deeply involved in the domain of Biofuels and Biochemicals, where his contributions have been transformative leading to significant filing of patents, publishing Book chapters and research papers in National and international journals. Dr. Sawant strongly believes in Sustainable Innovation and is a Cohort of Swiss Learning Exchange, an institute committed to Sustainability.
Dr Ruturaj Sawant
(Head – Engineering & Scale up )
Dr. Ruturaj Sawant completed his Ph.D. in Chemical engineering from Curtin University, Australia and University of Aberdeen, UK. He specializes in thermochemical conversions, reaction engineering, reactor design and process development with a strong background in chemical engineering R&D. He has over a decade of experience across chemical engineering research, academia and industry domains including projects regarding coal gasification, wastewater management, wastewater treatment, tyre pyrolysis, biomass pyrolysis, plastic pyrolysis, ethanol distillation and photobioreactors. His current work focus is waste to energy processes and natural product extraction. He has recently joined PureCheck India Ltd to manage and lead the engineering aspects of the business. His role will be mainly to develop and deploy technology from lab scale to commercial scale operations. Being a passionate learner and student of science, Ruturaj has also been an academic tutor and loves being in the company of university students. Apart from work, Ruturaj loves to play sports, especially cricket, football and chess; appreciate art, food and all things culture.
